Company founded to provide advice, installation, custom design, and support of Web cameras above and underwater for tourism destinations in the Caribbean. Installed world’s first underwater “ReefCam” on Bonaire in March, 2000 and relayed the images via the www.BonaireWebCams.com web site. The site and the Bonaire WebCams were take off line in August 2011 dur to a lack of funding 11 years after they came on-line, which became Bonaire's most web sitepopular site.. The Bonaire ReefCam was selected one of the 25 most interesting WebCams in the world by EarthCam for the year 2000. Company integrates various cameras, special lens technologies, wireless and networked communication, video capture systems, and custom software to provide turnkey solutions. Responsibilities include company management, web systems design and programming, graphics software development, and camera systems design and development.

Co-founded company to provide a variety of services focused on visual technologies. In particular, Web page design, programming, professional photography, and training, as well as consulting on 3-D and 2-D PC graphics and games technology and small business mentoring. Currently, the company is a holding company and managing partner in a number of technology ventures (including Caribbean WebCams, LLC and Caribbean Stuff, LCC listed above). Applicable personal experience involves translating information about technology into layman's terms, both in written form and verbally. Also developer and provider of the popular on-line Patent Fetcher service, which provides PDFs of patent publications via download for a minimal fee. Company also produces and sells fine art prints and limited edition digitally enhanced photographic and painted prints on archival media at e-commerce site http://www.CaribbeanArt.com, the content of such prints being based on original oil paintings and photographic images created by the company's principals.

Publication became The Peddie Report, was purchased by Penton Media, and subsequently dissappeared. Jon Peddie now operates Jon Peddie Research.

Founded company in order to provide computer graphics expertise to the PC marketplace. Helped company evolve through programming expertise and guerrilla marketing methods into the leading supplier of AutoCAD display list drivers to both OEMs and end-users. Panacea's OEM customers include IBM, Autodesk, Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, Digital Equipment Corp., Diamond Multimedia Systems, ATI Technologies, Number Nine Visual Technologies, and virtually every significant PC graphics hardware company in the world. As part of growing the company, learned how to market commercial products into various channels, including distribution, VAR, reseller, and direct. Introduced numerous forms of automation into company, include complete external electronic communications processing via an internal network, including a FAX server, voice mail, and electronic mail. Sold company to Spacetec IMC Corporation at the beginning of 1995, and parted ways due to philosophical differences later in the year.

(company later became Number Nine Visual Technologies, Lexington, Massachusetts and then became part part of SonicBlue, Inc. - formerly S3, Inc.)

Principal Engineer

Prior to leaving, was principally involved in UNIX and MS-DOS device driver development and new generation PC graphics hardware and software design, as well as third party software developer support via on-line means and on-site assistance. Other responsibilities include Project Manager for the Pepper SGT graphics board, co-creator and developer of NNIOS, Number Nine's Intelligent Operating System, and the design and development of numerous demo programs which were used to promote the various special board features. As Project Manager for the Pepper SGT, pioneered use of the Intel 82786 graphics co-processor and then combined it with the TI TMS34010 graphics processor, both in hardware and software. Also, developed single-monitor software solution for company's graphics boards by writing BIOS emulation of PC video functions. Designed and implemented Number Nine's emulation of the IBM PC's Monochrome Display Adapter and Color Graphics Adapter for the Pepper series of graphics products.

Wang Laboratories, Lowell, Massachusetts

Designed and implemented low-level video support software for the Wang PC family, including the ROM BIOS video code in the Wang Laptop. Other projects included enhancing IBM PC compatibility in Wang's products and designing a new generation of graphics controllers.

Responsibilities included managing the campus microcomputer facility and a staff of 14 consultants, teaching and supervising microcomputer training seminars, and assisting RPI faculty in developing software for their courses.

Games Software Engineer

Designed and implemented all graphics and animation routines used in their games and educational products for the IBM-PC and compatibles. Developed many in-house utilities including a graphics editor, font and sound generators, copy protection program, and a high speed keyboard handler. Published products include IBM's Jumpman, Mindscape's Keyboard Cadet and Show Director for the IBM PC, and Mirror Images' Fleet Sweep, Freddy Fish and Spyder, also for the IBM PC. Fleet Sweep was a solo effort, and can still be found today in shareware libraries.
